Gifted and talented status between years is shown in the table below. It is taken from a random sample of 2008 data for Year 7 pupils. The 2007 value is for the previous year when they were in primary school.

The table shows that the majority of children assessed as "gifted and talented" when they were in the last year of primary school are no longer assessed as "gifted and talented" in the first year of secondary school.
